A new Harris Teeter weekly ad comes out every week. It starts on Wednesday and its prices are good for seven days, through the following Tuesday. We add the new ad here on Wednesday morning, the same day its prices take effect.

How the Harris Teeter weekly specials work

Many prices in the ad are VIC prices, marked with the VIC logo and the words "with your VIC card". Knowing the different kinds of deals helps you read each tag correctly:

• VIC prices apply when you shop with your free VIC card, and many tags also show a "save at least" amount.
• Buy 1, get 1 free and "buy 2, get 2" deals mean each item rings up at half price with your VIC card.
• The e-VIC Members Only Sale is a block of extra discounts for e-VIC members, valid only for part of the week and with a weekly limit per item. Next to each of these prices, the ad shows the price for non-members.
• Bonus points offers, such as 4X Fuel Points on selected days, multiply the points you earn on qualifying items.

Harris Teeter Discovery magazine and regional ads

The weekly flyer isn't the only ad Harris Teeter publishes. Discovery, its monthly magazine, stays valid for about four weeks and is all about new and trending products, organic favorites and recipes, and many of the items it features come with a price. How to save more with Harris Teeter VIC Rewards

Harris Teeter VIC Rewards is the chain's free loyalty program, and your VIC card is what unlocks the VIC prices in the ad. You can get a card at any store if you're 18 or older with a photo ID. At the register, scan the card or your rewards number in the Harris Teeter app, or give your phone number instead. Your VIC savings are printed on the receipt, and membership brings more ways to save:

• e-VIC is free for card holders who sign up with an email address. Each week it flags the items you usually buy when they go on sale, and its member-only discounts come off automatically at the register.
• Digital coupons are for e-VIC members, who clip them on the website or in the Harris Teeter app. They come off automatically when you buy the items with the same VIC card, and some are personalized coupons selected just for you.
• Double coupons mean manufacturer's coupons worth up to 99¢ count twice, up to 20 a day with your VIC card.
• Points add up as you shop, one for each dollar spent on most groceries, plus points at the pharmacy, on most gift cards and on pickup and delivery orders.
• Redeeming points works in steps of 100. Each step takes 10¢ off a gallon of gas at Harris Teeter Fuel Centers and participating BP and Amoco stations, up to $1 a gallon. If you'd rather save on groceries, each step takes $1 off your next purchase instead, up to $10 a day. Points expire at the end of the month after the one you earn them in.
