The Publix weekly ad runs from Wednesday to Tuesday

A new Publix weekly ad usually comes out every week. Its prices start on Wednesday and last seven days, through the following Tuesday. We post the new ad here on Tuesday morning, a day before it takes effect, which gives you a sneak peek at next week's BOGOs.

How to read the deals in a Publix ad

Under almost every price, the ad shows how much you can save. Here is what its deals and fine print mean:

• BOGO deals (Buy 1 Get 1 Free) give you a second item of equal or lesser price for free, and in some states you can buy just one at half price. Deals such as Buy 2 Get 3 Free apply only when you buy the full number of items the deal names.
• Multi-buy prices, such as 2 for $8 or 3 for $10, set one price for several items.
• Digital coupon deals list the sale price, the coupon and the final price you pay once the coupon is clipped to your Club Publix account.
• The fine print on the front page names the counties the ad is printed for. Prices apply to in-store purchases at Publix locations, with quantity limits per household.

Publix weekly ad, Extra Savings and the Liquors ad

Publix also publishes Extra Savings, a separate flyer with deals you won't find in the weekly ad. Its prices usually last two weeks, and it is full of manufacturer digital coupons for groceries as well as health and beauty items, which you clip before you shop. Publix Liquors stores have their own ad with spirits, wine and beer, and its prices apply only in those stores.

The weekly ad is the one to start with for a regular grocery trip, since it covers the whole store, from meat and produce to household goods.

How to save more with Club Publix

Club Publix is the chain's free loyalty program. You join with a Publix account and your phone number, which you then enter at checkout so your clipped coupons and perks apply. Members get:

• Digital coupons that you clip to your Club Publix account, including the coupons behind the final prices in the ad.
• Deals picked for you: BOGOs and sales chosen based on what you've bought before, with notifications when relevant ones come up.
• A first look: members can sneak a peek at the new ad a day early.

Alongside national brands, the chain's own labels show up throughout its ads:

• Publix is the name on everyday basics such as ground chuck, yellow onions, shredded cheese and spring water.
• GreenWise brings organic products and meat raised without antibiotics, from chicken and Angus sirloin steak to organic grapes.
• Publix Bakery bakes the cookies, cakes and breads in the ad, as well as a Key lime pie made from its original recipe.
• Publix Deli makes subs, meals for one and take-and-bake trays.
